The Event Management Section of the Orange County Convention Center takes pride in the level of convention industry experience that we offer to show managers as they plan the logistical details of their convention, trade show or special event. The Event Managment Section of the OCCC is comprised of Event Managers, 80% of whom have achieved professional industry recognition as Certified Meeting Professionals.
An Event Manager (EM) will be assigned to each event/show approximately one year in advance. For show managers and event planners, your EM works on your behalf in the following manner:
- serving as the main conduit for OCCC communication and information – before, during and after the show
- providing you with the information tools required to ensure that your proposed event program and exhibit hall floor plans abide by all building and fire safety code regulations
- reviewing/approving your proposed show specifications and, once final, creating an OCCC Event Document that summarizes all of your show’s activities, which will then be distributed throughout the facility
- arranging a pre-convention meeting for your show management team to discuss and review show information or last minute changes with OCCC staff
