Consumer Show Guidelines & Information
A consumer show at the Orange County Convention Center is defined as an exhibition that is open to the public, usually requiring an entrance fee.
Exhibition halls utilized for consumer exhibit shows or for other non-exhibit purposes will be charged on a per day rate.
ADVERTISING: Any advertisement of a consumer show must state the total admission price. You should refrain from advertising any performance or the appearance of any performer, until all contracts between all parties involved have been properly executed. Your advertising copy must identify the event sponsor and specify that parking fees will be charged.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: If deemed necessary by the Director, one hundred percent (100%) of the rental and extra charges shall be due and payable in advance of use of the facility. The Director may require a security deposit and/or performance bond in an amount equal to the risk and expense involved with the event.
OPENING TIMES. You must ensure that the doors to the event are opened at the time advertised for the event unless, in the public interest, circumstances clearly warrant a change. Events must conclude no later than 1:00 am and the building cleared of all attendees and staff no later than 2:00 am.
If you utilize the Center for the sale of your admission tickets, the following terms apply:
- You will still be responsible for the cost of printing admission tickets.
- The Center will have complete custody and control of money received from the sale of tickets for the purpose of applying it toward payment of any balance due the Center.
- All monies received from ticket sales shall be held by the Center as bailment for the benefit of the ticket purchasers until the completion of the event.
- The Center reserves the right to collect and/or withhold sales or admissions taxes due the State of Florida for ticket sales and remit the tax directly to the Florida Department of Revenue.
- All monies will be held by the OCCC until full and satisfactory settlement of rent and incurred charges has been completed. The Center will pay you the balance due once settlement it finalized, less expenses. Under no circumstances can you draw an advance of funds prior to full settlement.
- Requests for cash at settlement must be received in writing fourteen (14) days prior to the event.
