Orange County
Convention Center breaks ground with
hydrogen-powered vehicles
The Orange
County Convention Center (OCCC) has recently
added two Ford hydrogen-powered V-10 E-450
shuttles to its fleet of vehicles. The shuttle
systems are part of the OCCC’s newest green
project efforts to find alternative fuel
resources for the future and our community. The
hydrogen-fueled shuttle buses at the OCCC can
carry up to twelve passengers and are being used
for the convenience of OCCC visitors, employees,
and tours.
The hydrogen
bus partnership was developed to establish
Florida and Orlando and a center for hydrogen
technology in the U.S. Hydrogen-derived energy
will yield many benefits for Orlando, including:
•
Cleaner air, resulting from less fossil fuel
combustion
•
Increased energy availability through decreased
dependence on foreign sources of energy
•
Greater reliability of power supplies during
emergency situations
•
Lower greenhouse gases
